This client wanted to print a book in black and white. However, once the maps were converted to black and white they were extremely unclear. This is because the defining colors turned into a very similar shade of gray. Therefore, my job was to create patterns that differentiated the areas of the maps and defined new legends for each one. I also used Photoshop to add contrast and definition to the author’s photograph at the end of the book.

Web Design Mockups

I worked for a programmer who had found a solution to an issue that arose with their clients. The clients wanted many changes to their websites over time. Instead of programming each change into the site and having to rework everything for each change, he sought a graphic designer who would create mockups instead. These quickly editable visuals would give the client something to approve of before the changes would be implemented on the website.
Isthislegal is a search engine for legal questions. The original design was cluttered. The search bar is not visible right away and the “specify jurisdiction” tab is so small that it goes unnoticed. My design removes the unnecessary words and highlights the brand name as well as the search bar. The prewritten prompts are under the search bar, simulating the suggested entries that come up when typing. The words “specify jurisdiction” are larger so they are more visible. The tab that appears has been changed to the brand colors and slightly shortened in height. Finally, the profile picture at the top right of the screen has been enlarged slightly for visibility.

The Heart of the Beast
Book Cover
The Heart of the Beast is a raw, atmospheric thriller exploring loyalty, instinct, and the line between protector and predator.
The outfits on the cover are inspired by clothing from the 1950’s. For the background, I created a quiet night on the grand canyon. I found many references for this but used artistic liberty when drawing the lines. A brush was used to create the textured hair of the Beast and add a subtle highlight to the woman’s hair.

Crimson Delirium
Book Cover
The Ava Montgomery Saga delves into the harrowing depths of method acting, the sacrifices made for art, and the terrifying cost of losing oneself in the pursuit of perfection.
I intended to capture the worlds of fame and psychological struggles in this cover. There is also a sense of mystery with the car at the top of the image. The bottom image with Ava’s hands behind her back signifies the idea of hiding something. This image originally had the actress holding a knife in front of her, but I photoshopped the image so that she would appear to be on the red carpet with her hands behind her back instead.
